The best shoes for longer legs

Of course shoes can't really give you legs like Gisele Bunchen. If you're on the petite side like me, you have to accept it and just keep in mind that even Kylie Minogue is only 1m52.

But still there are some tricks to make the most of your legs. That a pair of high heels helps, goes without saying. But there are also some other little tips. Read, learn and use as wanted. I have to admit I don't always follow these rules myself - I even sin against them big time if I love the shoes enough - but still they can come in handy.

1.Tan for days
If you wear shoes in the same colour as your legs, you immediately look a lot taller. This even works when the shoes have a strap, which normally cuts your legs off and makes them seem shorter. The effect is multiplied when wearing tan heels.

2. To the point
No matter whether they are flats or heels, pointy shoes also make your legs look longer.

3. Strap it down
When you wear shoes with a strap, make sure the strap is low enough, meaning below your actual ankle. That way your legs seem less cut off and consequently longer.

4. Show some cleavage
The lower cut the shoe is in the front, the longer your legs look. Show some toe cleavage (I learned this word when reading 'If Looks Could Kill' by Kate White - which btw I recommend).

5. Low-riding booties
If you like wearing ankle boots, the same advice applies as with the straps. Wear booties that end right before your ankle. If you make sure the booties don't cover your ankles, your legs will look longer.
