The best of 2017: from fashion to food

Below you can discover my lifestyle highlights of 2017. I didn't have time yet to translate this post in Dutch (but soon!).

Best fashion buy
I cannot choose between the Impatiens Oscar de la Renta earrings, the Dsquared2 - on trend yet timeless - striped shirt and the Lanvin sandals from The Mall (I had been searching for cute and dressy flat sandals for ages). Which one do you like the best?

Favourite collection
Lanvin. No doubt. I adore the accessories collection that is inspired by birds, but also almost all the clothes. Bouchra Jarrar, the designer, did an amazing job. I would really want it all. So if there are any sponsors out there...:-)

Favourite view
The view from the rooftop terrace at Hotel Raphael in Paris. I hadn't been to Paris for a few years and it felt wonderful to be back sipping a cocktail with this view. It still is one of my favourite cities ever.

Best trip
Despite my love for Paris, it was Florence once again that captured my heart this year. I love the relatively small but amazingly beautiful city.

Favourite cocktail dress
The one I wore for dinner at Il Salviatino in Florence. I found this little number in the Princess Outlet. I love the realxed summery feel of the dress and the fact that it matches perfectly with my favourite shoes.

Most amazing exhibition
Dior, couturier de rêve. No need to say more.

Best cocktail
It's a tie between the Aviation by Miraeus Cocktails and Ceci n'est pas du chocolat by the Pharmacy.

Best new experience
My best new experience was watching the René Magritte virtual reality movie at the beach in Knokke.

Best gift
A drawing by Valentine De Cort offered by Delvaux. I adore the combination of a fashion girl, Delvaux and Magritte. I always like fashion illustrations - I wish I could draw like that.

Favourite culinary experience
Although I had this lunch alone, it was my best culinary experience of 2017. Cuines 33 can expect me again next year.

Best new discovered brand
I love the jewellery by Goossens. I discovered this Parisian brand at Louis in Antwerp.

Best fashion encounter
I loved meeting stylist Sylvain Ruffier and designer Chloé Serfaty of the shoe brand Daryn Moore. Two passionate people with a love for all things beautiful.

Most fashion blogger thing to do
Having my picture taken at the new Louis Vuitton store at the Place Vendôme in Paris.

Best fashionable book
Rich People Problems by Kevin Kwan, the third and final installment in the 'Crazy Rich Asians' trilogy.

Best art
The installations by Fred Eerdekens immediately caught my eye at the Samuel Vanhoegaerden Gallery in Knokke. At first glance the metal constructions are just abstract shapes but with the right lighting, the shadows spell out words.

Another highlight was seeing the Botticelli paintings at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.

Best sushi
I know, it is really weird to go to Italy for sushi. But when you're ever in Florence, go eat sushi at Momoyama

Best little treat
Macarons by Pierre Hermé. They are simply the best!
