In het modewoordenboek vandaag: uitsnijdingen (cut-outs).

- uitsnijding (cut-out): het woord zegt het zelf: een uitsnijding in een kledingstuk waardoor je een stukje huid ziet. Ook gebruikt bij accessoires zoals handtassen (al zie je daar natuurlijk geen huid maar enkel een ander materiaal), schoenen...Wanneer de uitsnijding gemaakt is in een kledingstuk spreek je soms ook van een 'peek-a-boo'-effect. Sinds een paar seizoenen zijn cut-outs niet meer weg te denken van de catwalk.

- cut-out: an opening in a piece of clothing which reveals some skin. Also used in accessories for example, bags (of course it doesn't show skin when used in bags, merely another fabric), shoes... When the cut-out is made in a piece of clothing sometimes it is also called a peek-a-boo effect. Since a few seasons cut-outs are consistently present on the runway.
