De expo 'Dries Van Noten. Inspirations’ is aan zijn laatste week toe. Nog tot 19 juli kunnen bezoekers de inspiratie van een van Antwerpens beroemdste modeontwerpers ontdekken in MoMu (ModeMuseum). Op zaterdag 18 en zondag 19 juli is er bovendien een midzomernachtsopening: de tentoonstelling zal op deze twee laatste dagen doorlopend open zijn tot middernacht. The exhibition 'Dries Van Noten. Inspirations' is in its final week. Until July 19th visitors can still discover the inspirations of one of Antwerp's most famous designer in the fashion museum MoMu. On Saturday July 18th and Sunday July 19th there even is a midsummer night's opening: the exhibition will be open till midnight on these last two days. De tentoonstelling ’Dries Van Noten. Inspirations’ is geen klassieke retrospectieve, maar een intieme tocht doorheen het artistieke universum van de modeontwerper. Aan de hand van film, fotografie en beeldende kunst (met topwerken van o.a. Yves Klein, Damien Hirst en Mark Rothko) geeft de expo een inzage in zijn werk, zijn creatieproces en inspiratiebronnen. De expo geeft duidelijk weer dat inspiratie overal kan zitten: zoals iedereen wel merkt bij Dries Van Noten in buitenlandse bestemmingen zoals India en foklore, maar evenzeer in muziek van punk tot Jimi Hendrix, de natuur (vlinders, bloemen...), geschiedenis, uniformen, film, beeldende kunst, dans...en ja zelfs geuren.
The exhibition 'Dries Van Noten. Inspirations' isn't a classic retrospective, but an intimite view into the artistic universe of the designer. You get a better understanding of his work, creative process and inspiration sources by seeing his designs next to movies, photography and works of art (with works by Yves Klein, Damien Hirst, Mark Rothko...). The exhibition clearly shows that inspiration can be everywhere: as everyone notices in Van Noten's designs in foreign destinations such as India and folklore, but also in music - from punk to Jimi Hendrix, nature (butterflies, flowers...), history, uniforms, movies, visual arts, dance...and yes, even smells.

"Het is een werk van introspectie, een reflectie over mezelf, mijn werkwijze als ontwerper en mijn relatie met kunst en mijn andere passies. Mijn werk is noch een fotokopie, noch een eerbetoon.
