Up close & personal with a fashion girl, about anyhting but fashion - Part 1

Favoriet zomers drankje
Tot voor kort zou ik Cosmopolitan gezegd hebben, maar ik heb vorige zomer Moët Ice Impérial ontdekt op Monroe Beach in Knokke. Jammer dat het op niet veel plaatsen per glas te koop is. Een hele fles is wat veel voor mij alleen. Die op de foto hebben we met twee gekraakt.

Foodie
Ik geniet echt van lekker eten. Of ik nu Italiaans of sushi het lekkerst vind, kan ik niet zeggen. Het is een gelijkspel. Beide eet ik zeker één keer per week. Ook andere keukens kunnen me bekoren. Een tip: L’Epicerie du Cirque of Civilta Del Bere in Antwerpen.

Stad die ik graag bezoek
Ik ga heel graag naar Parijs. Enerzijds om te shoppen maar ook omdat het een heel andere wereld op amper 2 uur van België is. Ik houd van de kledingstijl van de Parisiennes en van de sfeer die de stad uitademt. Achter elke hoek ligt een mooi gebouw, een prachtige fontein of een gezellig pleintje. De hele stad ademt elegantie. Ook Parijse mannen zijn heel charmant. Op straat zullen ze je sneller bewonderend aankijken - zonder je lastig te vallen. Ook ‘macarons de Paris’ kunnen me erg bekoren - breng zeker een bezoekje aan Pierre Hermé. Oh, en ga een thee of cocktail drinken in het Plaza Athénée, niet goedkoop maar een onvergetelijke ervaring.

Zoete zonde
Macarons de Paris dus! Daar kan ik niet aan weerstaan.

Tea for me
Ik ben verslaafd aan chai latte van Starbucks. Ik kan de ochtend moeilijk zonder starten. De Green Goji  Acai thee van Brazila in Knokke is ook een echte aanrader, is bovendien gezonder & bevat minder calorieën.

Music Maestro
Vaak kan ik echt genieten van de stilte. We leven in zo’n drukke maatschappij dat dat echt kan goed doen. Maar op andere momenten heb ik net muziek nodig. Emoties kunnen op geen enkele andere manier zo krachtig worden uitgedrukt. Ja, ik zing mee, maar alleen als niemand het hoort! Op mijn huidige playlist staan onder andere 4 Minutes van Justin Timberlake & Madonna, Killer Queen van Queen, Fame van Irene Cara, Say Someting van Pentatonix,  Let It Go uit Frozen, Wake Me Up van Avicii, Poison & Wine van The Civil Wars...maar ook Danse Macabre van Camille Saint-Saëns. Ik heb een brede smaak, alleen te extreme muziek is niet mijn ding.

Altijd een boek bij
Alhoewel het het tijdeperk van eReaders is, verkies ik nog steeds een echt boek. Ik lees veel verschillende genres. Als ik er dan toch enkele moet aanbevelen, kies ik voor ‘The Overnight Socialite’ van Bridie Clark, ‘The Cuckoo’s Calling’ van Robert Galbraith aka J.K. Rowling en ‘Gods behaving badly’ van Marie Phillips. Als klassieker herlees ik graag ‘And Then There Were None’ van Agatha Christie. Ik ben erg benieuwd naar de ‘nieuwe’ Hercule Poirot door Sophie Hannah die in september verschijnt. Als guilty pleasure lees ik trouwens ook graag de Shopaholic-boeken van Sophie Kinsella.

A fashion girl up close & personal - English text version

Favourite summer drinkUntil recently I would have said a Cosmopolitan. But last summer I discovered Moët Ice Impérial at Monroe Beach in Knokke. Sadly there aren’t a lot of places that sell it by the glas. A bottle is just too much for me alone. The one on the photo was downed with a friend.

Foodie
I really enjoy good food. Can’t decide whether it is Italian or sushi I love the most. It’s a draw. I eat both at least once a week. But I also like other cuisines. A tip: L’Epicerie du Cirque or Civilta Del Bere in Antwerp.

The city I love to visit
 I adore Paris. Of course I go there for the amazing stores but also because it’s a totally different world at
only 2 hours from Belgium. I love the style of the Parisiennes, and the atmosphere the city breathes. Behind every corner there is a beautiful building, a gorgeous fountain or a cosy square. The Parisian men are also very charming. On the street they often give you admiring glances and appreciative smiles without being pushy. Another thing I love: macarons de Paris - be sure to visit Pierre Hermé. Oh, and go for a tea or cocktail at the Plaza Athénée. Pricey but an unforgettable experience! An address to visit.

Tea for me 
I am really addicted to chai latte from Starbucks. Can’t start my day without one. The Green Goji Acai tea from Brazila in Knokke is also very tasty, healthier & with less calories.

Music Maestro
Often I can just enjoy the silence. We live in such a hectic and busy society that I can really need that peace & quiet. But there also are lots of times when I need some music. Nothing else can express emotions that strongly. Yes, I do sing along. But only when I’m sure no one can hear me! On my curent playlist are: 4 Minutes by Justin Timberlake & Madonna, Killer Queen by Queen, Fame by Irene Cara, Say Someting by Pentatonix,  Let It Go from Frozen, Wake Me Up by Avicii, Poison & Wine by The Civil Wars...but also Danse Macabre by Camille Saint-Saëns. I have a broad taste, only too extreme music isn’t my cup of tea.

Always a book with me
Although we’ve entered the era of eReaders I still prefer a real book. I read a lot of genres. If I do have to recommend a book I choose ‘The Overnight Socialite’ by Bridie Clark, ‘The Cuckoo’s Calling’ by Robert Galbraith aka J.K. Rowling and ‘Gods behaving badly’ by Marie Phillips. A classic I still enjoy is ‘And Then There Were None’ by Agatha Christie. I’m very curious for the ‘new’ Hercule Poirot by Sophie Hannah in September. As a guilty pleasure I also indulge in the Shopaholic novels by Sophie Kinsella.
