In het modewoordenboek vandaag: empirelijn.

 - empirelijn: een jurkje of topje waarbij de taillelijn hoger ligt dan de natuurlijke taille, vaak vlak onder de buste. Meestal valt de rest van het kledingstuk los naar beneden. Dit creëert de illusie van lengte en verdoezelt bv. bredere heupen.

In the fashion dictionary today: empire waist.

- empire waist: a dress or top with a waistline above the natural waistline, often directly below the bust. Generally the clothing piece is loosely cut and flowy below that raised waistline. Thus the silhouette seems longer and for example heavier hips are camouflaged.
